With the increasing market demand for skilled media specialists, multimedia developers, multimedia authoring specialists, web designers, audio/video engineers and streaming media specialists, this curriculum offers a wide range of career opportunities for graduates. Throughout the program, students can learn concepts, techniques, and tools related to multimedia design, interface design, audio/video editing, and web design. Project management, creative design, and communication skills are integrated throughout this dynamic curriculum.
The Video and Animation Production concentration teaches the advanced conceptual and technical skills necessary for careers in the video production, computer animation, motion graphics, and multimedia industries. Using computer hardware and software, students will be exposed to a challenging course of study in the processes of video production, directing, editing, compositing, 3D, character, and special effects animation, and will complete projects typical of the video and animation industry. Traditional principles of production, such as drawing storyboarding, direction, shot composition, character development, and modeling are coupled with training in digital compositing, post-production and rendering techniques within a simulated production studio environment. Legal and ethical issues, marketing principles, client relations, and current business practices in the video and animation production industries are taught to prepare students for their internships and professional careers in production.
