Harrington College of Design is an educational environment focused on teaching creative people what it takes to become a complete professional. Our undergrad and graduate degree programs will teach you what it takes to get the job done. By getting involved in the complete professional process, you can learn the basics of aesthetics, strategic thinking and concrete technical skills. In addition to our quality faculty, we offer you options to learn from professionals outside our school. Through visits to design studios, critiques from industry leaders and other opportunities, you can add to your education with an inside view of what it takes out there.

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Commercial Photography

Become fluent in the business of photography

This program goes beyond lenses, lighting, composition and the other traditional components of photography. It can also challenge you to become fluent in the language of commercial photography and enhance your understanding of business. Designed to help you become a complete professional, the comprehensive focus can facilitate your ability to communicate effectively with clients and manage projects.

Our degree programs offer an industry-current education that can get you behind the camera and teach you career-focused skills.

The Associate in Digital Photography program can prepare you for entry-level opportunities in the field of commercial photography. Using images created for class projects you can develop a professional portfolio to showcase your best work for prospective clients and employers.

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Commercial Photography program offers the training and experience that can help you launch a career in the competitive field of photography. It can prepare you to look for a variety of opportunities in this field.

Create powerful design solutions

In these programs you can learn to not only execute design but to create impactful design solutions through strategic thinking. Designed to help you become a complete professional, they combine illustration, art direction and more – with an emphasis on what’s needed in the real-world workplace. Ultimately, we strive to prepare today’s natural problem solvers to become tomorrow’s design leaders.

We offer a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and two Master’s programs in Communication Design – a Master of Fine Arts that builds on a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related area and a Master of Arts for those with a Bachelor’s degree in another field.

Immerse yourself in professional Interior Design

Our Interior Design education is not only aesthetic, but also functional. Designed to help you become a complete professional, it will immerse you in many aspects of the profession – from space planning and building codes to textiles, furnishings and sustainability. Through exposure to the entire professional process, you can develop the practical skills and knowledge to take on different types of environments.

We offer a Bachelor’s degree and two Master’s programs in Interior Design – a Master of Interior Design that builds on a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related area and a Master of Arts in Interior Design for those with a Bachelor’s degree in another field. You can:

• Explore creative design, including green design

• Develop skills in industry-current computer applications used in the interior design industry

• Design within the context of building systems, using appropriate materials and products

• Become familiar with the laws, codes, regulations, standards and practices that protect the health, safety and welfare of the public

• Learn the fundamentals of interior design with the opportunity to advance your knowledge in our graduate programs and take on more complex projects
