Daina Scarola is a native Canadian artist currently living and working in Nova Scotia. Inspired by the Canadian coastlines, Scarola has described herself as a Surf Artist, creating beautiful oil paintings of surfers and beachgoers. Scarola explores such themes as nostalgic beach vacations, featuring many views of surfers against the horizon. In her work, she strives to connect the global surfing community and raise awareness for environmental issues.
Scarola briefly studied painting at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University in Halifax. In 2003, she began working as a full-time painter. Her work has been exhibited in Canada, America, the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Australia. For more information on Scarola, visit her Ocean Art Studio website or follow her on Twitter and Facebook. Scarola’s next project includes a road trip down the North American coastlines.
