Top 10 Architecture Schools
When trying to compile a list of the top ten architecture schools it is very hard to define what exactly makes the best architectural college. What is most important is what is actually best for each individual student’s needs and requirements; these can vary greatly depending on their personal ambitions and goals; and choosing their college is one of their biggest decisions of their lives.
Each design and art college has differing strengths and expertise; so it’s not always possible to take these on face value and one should consider the plus points of each college individually. Considerations that need to be taken in to account when compiling the top ten architecture schools include the faculty itself and the experience and quality of its staff, the school’s location and facilities, it’s finances and bursary opportunities for students. Many students will consider the surroundings in which the school is located as a key reason for selecting their architecture school, this may include whether the school is located in a city or out in the countryside.
In addition to core subjects, which are undertaken in arts colleges; extra-curricular activities, such as sports, are equally as important, as they can enhance a student’s college experience and add to their CV. An important measure of how well the top architectural schools are performing are the quality of students they are producing and how successful they’ve gone on to be in later life, a good indicator of this is the school’s alumni and how well supported the school is by business through its internship programs and student opportunities.
